Join the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles for no-host cocktails at The Wolves in the 1906 John Parkinson designed Alexandria Hotel, once the most extravagant hotel in the city (it cost a whopping $2 million to build) and popular with the silent film stars of the day. The Wolves is a Belle Époque style bar with Parisienne flair. Cocktails feature a lot of house-made ingredients and the food blends French and American cuisine. Some participants dress in cocktail or vintage attire, but it is not required. No RSVP necessary.

On December 5th, we celebrate the 88th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition in America. We are excited to welcome back authors Anne Peck-Davis and Diane Lapis to the virtual stage and continue our vintage journey across America. The duo’s program will feature unique cocktail lounges, hotel bars, and the exotic venues that defined the period after Prohibition’s repeal.

FDR and the Repeal of Prohibition: Art Deco Cocktail Lounges of the Post-Prohibition Years examines FDR’s role in repeal, ushering in a new era in cocktail culture.

A members only cocktail class that takes its inspiration from The Biltmore Hotel which opened in 1923! Participants will enjoy a lesson on each of The Biltmore’s cocktails from the 1930's and 4 mini cocktails with drink cards for each recipe. At the end of the class, each guest will receive a full cocktail of their choosing from the four that were discussed.
