Cocktails in Historic Places® at The Wolves

  • The Wolves DTLA 519 South Spring Street Los Angeles, CA, 90013 United States (map)

The Wolves has invited us to return to the lair this February! Our gathering was so well attended last year, they will be opening an additional area for us. Join the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles for no-host cocktails at The Wolves in the 1906 John Parkinson designed Alexandria Hotel, once the most extravagant hotel in the city (it cost a whopping $2 million to build) and popular with the silent film stars of the day. The Wolves is a Belle Époque style bar with Parisienne flair. Cocktails feature a lot of house-made ingredients and the food blends French and American cuisine.

The hotel was once a gathering place for the famous, including President Theodore Roosevelt, King Edward VIII of England, boxer Jack Dempsey, opera star Enrico Caruso, and movie stars Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin.

We look forward to conversations about historic Los Angeles, vintage clothing and cars, home restorations and much more!

This gathering is free, but you are on the hook for food and beverage you wish to consume. Traditionally, the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles members gather once a month in an historic building with a bar, to socialize and revel in the beauty of historic architecture. It is our duty to patronize businesses in historic buildings! We welcome interested persons to join us. This no-host cocktail gathering is open to members and non-members alike, and no reservations are required to attend.
