An Afternoon with Adrian

  • Arizona State University FIDM 919 South Grand Avenue Los Angeles, 90015 (map)

ADRIAN: Designing Hollywood, Dressing America at the ASU FIDM Museum Galleries.

Members of the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles are invited by ASU/FIDM to a rather fashionable Afternoon with Adrian, celebrating the work and legacy of legendary Hollywood costume designer Adrian.

The afternoon begins with a screening of Letty Lynton (MGM 1932), starring Joan Crawford and featuring costumes designed by Adrian.

Following the film, stay for a panel discussion and Q&A exploring the world of collecting Hollywood costumes, from preserving them for research and exhibition to giving these remarkable pieces a life beyond their original appearances on screen.

Scheduled panelists include:

  • Larry McQueen, co-author of The Costumes of Hollywood

  • Richard Adkins, author of Adrian: American Designer, Hollywood Original

  • Tina Joseff, owner of Joseff of Hollywood

While you’re there, don’t miss ADRIAN: Designing Hollywood, Dressing America at the ASU FIDM Museum Galleries. The exhibition is free and open during gallery hours.
