Join us for a rare 1930 Clara Bow pre-code romp, screened from a 35mm print, with special guest, David Stenn to speak about the film!
“I’ve had enough trouble with men without marrying any!” declares Clara Bow (whose own hectic love life was this film's inspiration) as she flees wannabe Paris grooms for the French Riviera where comic mayhem ensues amidst Art Deco sets. Unseen for decades due to rights issues and still unavailable on any streamlining platform, this super-rare Pre-Code romp is “a rush of great fun, high spirits, and good humor from a bright ensemble cast, and particularly vivacious Bow” (Derek Winnert).

David Stenn is a film and television writer with credits ranging from “Hill Street Blues” to “Boardwalk Empire. He is a Hollywood historian and author of Bombshell: The Life and Death of Jean Harlow and Clara Bow: Runnin’ Wild. As a film preservationist he had found and funded restorations of lost films. He is a UCLA Film & Television Archive and Museum of Modern Art board member.

Tickets are FREE! The box office opens one hour before showtime. The theater doors open approximately 30 minutes before showtime. No reservations are accepted in advance. You must appear in person on the day of the event to claim your ticket. ADSLA is not handling the ticketing in any form for these movie screenings.
Admission to all public programs is free unless otherwise noted. No advance reservations. Your seat will be assigned to you when you pick up your ticket at the box office. Seats are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
LOCATION:
These screenings are at the Billy Wilder Theatre inside the Hammer Museum in Westwood. The Museum has a paid parking lot in the building. As this is a new construction facility it complies with ADA regulations.
Lulu restaurant and bar is onsite for a pre-movie dinner or cocktails.
