THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!
Let's go to the Beach! Kristin Wojkowski will take us for a dip in the waters of vintage swimwear, utilizing examples from her growing collection - which includes 1920s and 30s Catalina suits - even one from Pacific Knitting Mills, the earlier name of Catalina Swimwear.
The presentation includes a vintage swimwear discussion and fashion show by Kristin Wojkowski, curator of "Vintage.Swimwear.Collection" on Instagram and ADSLA member. We’ll see and talk about 1920s and 1930s suits, their evolution, style and more.
All attendees will have an opportunity to purchase a drawing ticket to win a vintage Catalina bathing suit.
Following the approximately one hour presentation, the Catalina Island Museum invites all all ticket buyers to mingle on their rooftop for no host cocktails. To add to the ambiance, please feel free to wear your own vintage or vintage inspired swim ensemble or resort wear. The models attend in their vintage swimsuits at the cocktail party for photos.
The presentation portion of this event has a very limited capacity. Only 70 seats will be sold. However, the rooftop portion of the afternoon (12:30 - 2:00 PM) is open to many more participants. To gain entry to the rooftop cocktail hour ONLY, you must purchase admission to the Catalina Island Museum for May 18, 2024. You may purchase in advance online or at the door, the day of the event.
Member Tickets: $24, Non-Member $30.
At the Door: $35
Members of the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets on Friday, April 12 at noon. Remaining tickets will be on sale at general admission prices if available. Tickets are non-refundable, but you may transfer your ticket to a friend if you find that you cannot attend.
