Visit with friends and make new ones when we gather for an informal Art Deco Afternoon at Will Rogers State Historic Park on Saturday, July 30, 2022 - 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Pack a picnic and an acoustic musical instrument (if you play one) or an old fashioned card or board game and join us for this free event. Priority will be given to members to reserve spots at the picnic tables reserved by ADSLA.
There is a charge for parking per car. We suggest taking a look at the park's website for full details.

Members and friends of the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles are invited to join us on Saturday, July 30th to explore Will Rogers State Historic Park. This is an informal afternoon. Look for us on the picnic grounds near the polo field and join in the fun–volunteers will wear ADSLA lapel pins and name badges.
Located right off of Sunset Boulevard in beautiful Pacific Palisades is the longtime home of an American icon and popular personality of the 1920s: Will Rogers. Join the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles for an informal outing to this California State Historic Park, offering many activities such as picnicking, home tours, horseback riding, hiking, and polo.

Ranch House Tours:
Free tours of the Will Rogers residence are offered every hour on the hour from 10am to 4pm, limited to 15 guests on a first come first served basis.
Hiking Trails:
Enjoy a 2-mile roundtrip loop to Inspiration Point or tackle part of the Backbone Trail, stretching more than 70 miles through the Santa Monica Mountains.
Polo:
From 2pm to 5pm, enjoy polo practice and matches on the historic polo field. A very popular activity in 1920s-1930s Hollywood, the picnic green overlooking the polo green will be “Basecamp” for the ADSLA throughout the day.
Parking:
The parking lot is open from 8am to sunset, with a fee of $12.00 per car and seniors for $11.00 per car.
What to Bring:
Anything suitable for a picnic! Food and drinks are welcome – alcohol is allowed on a BYOB basis and all California State Liquor Laws are enforced on State Parks grounds.
A picnic blanket, sun protection gear will be useful!
Dogs on leash are allowed. Please refer to the park website for details.
Attire:
Please DO wear vintage if you desire. We hope someone has vintage polo threads! But it is certainly not required.
Additional set up is restricted. This includes but is not limited to tables, chairs, umbrellas, shelters, canopies, and tents.
No tables or chairs on the Historic Ranch House Lawn.
